Europe's largest Greek archaeological park by area, spread across several separate temple groups along a dramatic stretch of coastline. Selinunte was once one of the richest and most powerful Greek cities in Sicily before its destruction by Carthage in 409 BC.
Wilder and far less visited than the Valle dei Templi, with none of its crowds and a coastal setting arguably even more striking, the ruins sit right above the sea rather than looking down on a modern city.
