Named for the archaeologist Pietro Griffo, this museum holds the region's best collection of Greek artefacts: painted vases, coins, sculpture, and everyday objects excavated from the Valle dei Templi and the wider ancient city of Akragas.
Its single most striking exhibit is the reconstructed 7.5-metre stone Telamon, salvaged from the fallen Temple of Zeus and stood upright indoors at something close to its original scale, an experience that's hard to fully appreciate from the scattered fragments still lying at the temple site itself.
