Look for the printed panels posted around the historic centre, part of an official city project called Wayfinding Agrigento. Each carries a map of two colour-coded self-guided routes through the old town, along with a QR code that unlocks details on everything marked nearby.

Scan the code at the bottom of any panel with a phone camera to pull up information on the sites around you, and directions to the next panel along whichever route you've chosen. One convenient starting panel sits at the eastern end of Via Atenea (Porta di Ponte), close to Via Garibaldi.

“Red hexagons mark places from Luigi Pirandello's writing, yellow dots mark “Art and Faith” sites, both overlaid on the same panel maps.”
Alleys & Culture (Blue)

The longer route, winding through the old town's backstreets and hidden corners.

Girgenti in One Hour (Bordeaux)

A shorter loop covering the essentials, for when time is tight.
